The Director of Marketing Operations serves as the VP of Marketing's primary partner, leading Parkhill's "Marketing Activation Engine" to ensure efficiency, consistency, and excellence across every marketing discipline. This role is critical to moving marketing from a reactive service function to a scalable, proactive, and data-driven model. The Director balances process and structure with an understanding of creative and event workflows, building a culture where marketing consistently delivers at a higher level with both quality and agility. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and oversee core marketing processes including intake, traffic management, prioritization, and reporting.
- Partner with the VP of Marketing to develop and execute the annual Marketing Operational Plan aligned to firmwide strategies and sector goals.
- Lead and develop the Marketing Operations Manager, Marketing Business Partners, and Events team (Events Lead, Planners, and Events & Promotions Coordinator).
- Provide strategic and operational oversight for events, ensuring consistency across internal, client-facing, and promotional experiences.
- Build scalable models for leveraging vendors and agencies when flexible capacity is required.
- Establish playbooks, standards, and decision-rights frameworks to reduce rework and increase efficiency.
- Provide oversight for promotional items and branded gear, ensuring policies, budgeting, and fulfillment processes reinforce brand consistency without burdening staff.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to measure workload distribution, event ROI, and internal vs. external marketing activity.
- Champion adoption of new processes and tools through communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Facilitate alignment between firmwide priorities and creative/event realities while maintaining accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 10+ years of experience in marketing operations or professional services marketing leadership.
- Proficiency in project management and workflow tools (Workfront, Asana, Monday.com).
- Strong data and analytics skills with ability to design dashboards and interpret KPIs.
- Familiarity with CRM/marketing automation systems (Deltek Vantagepoint, Adobe, HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Proven ability to build operational frameworks that improve efficiency, ROI, and impact.
- Strong leadership presence and communication skills with the ability to earn trust across executives and teams.
