 Quest Design & Millwork, a subsidiary of UFP Industries in Stafford, TX is a leader in custom architectural millwork and premium display systems. We deliver high-end, complex projects involving wood, metal, stone, glass, solid surfaces, and specialty finishes. We are seeking a seasoned Architectural Millwork Project Manager to lead and execute projects from design to installation, ensuring the highest standards of quality, schedule, and profitability. Location: onsite at facility in Stafford, TX Travel: Up to 10% Key Responsibilities / Duties 
 - Report directly to the Director of Project Management
 - Lead cross disciplinary project teams covering estimating, procurement, product engineering, fabrication, and installation
 - Review contract documents, architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals; flag issues, advise on solutions, and ensure constructability
 - Assist (or lead) in project estimating and take offs; review proposals before final contracting
 - Execute change orders, applications for payment, progress billings (AIA and other formats), and project close out documentation
 - Maintain and monitor project schedule (overall and long lead items), update and enforce milestones, and manage delays proactively
 - Manage quality control throughout fabrication and field installation; conduct inspections and punch list follow ups
 - Coordinate with the general contractor, architect, interior designer, sub trades, fabricators, vendors, and owners
 - Lead weekly internal project team meetings, prepare meeting minutes and action item tracking
 - Identify and propose value engineering or optimization opportunities (materials, scheduling, cost)
 - Field visits: measure conditions, verify site dimensions, oversee installations, and solve on site challenges
 - Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. AWI), codes, safety, warranty, and quality protocols
 - Drive communication: maintain transparency with internal stakeholders, clients, architects, and contractors
 - Manage concurrent projects of varying scopes and scales
 - After project completion, lead lessons learned assessments and feedback to improve process
 
 
________________________________________ Qualifications & Experience Required: 
 - Minimum 7+ years of direct experience in architectural millwork / display project management
 - Deep technical understanding of materials and systems: wood species, veneers, laminates, solid surface, stone, metal, glass, specialty finishes
 - Proven experience in fabrication methods and installation practices
 - Strong background in submittals, shop drawings, detailing, and review
 - * Experience with estimating, take offs, change orders, and AIA billing documents
 - Skilled in scheduling (MS Project, Monday, or equivalent), coordination, and risk management
 - Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confidence interacting with all levels of project stakeholders
 - Strong analytical, methodical, and judgment skills - ability to develop independent strategies and recovery plans
 - Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
 - Knowledge of AWI standards.
 - Experience in fast-paced, demanding project environments
 - Skilled in reading architectural/engineering drawings and translating them into efficient and aesthetically accurate panel layout plans.
 - Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex veneer and laminate panel layouts (walls, ceilings), with understanding of matching, grain flow, seams, joins, and transitions.
 
 
Preferred / Advantageous: 
 - Prior involvement with upscale corporate interiors, health care, hospitality, retail, or institutional projects
 - Experience with BIM / 3D modeling (Revit, SketchUp, Auto CAD)
 - Familiarity with CNC operations, machining processes, and shop workflows
 - Background in quality systems, LEED or sustainability, or green building practices & FSC

 - Regular site visits and fabrication shop attendance required
 - Some evening or weekend work may be necessary during project peaks
 - Must be based in the Houston area or willing to relocate
 - Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
 - Ability to navigate construction sites (stairs, heights, uneven terrain) safely
