DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide care in the areas of skilled, personal, and outpatient care. Your work will involve completing basic nursing skills and nursing procedures to maintain optimum inmate health and provide quality care. You will complete documentation and collect specimens for urine, feces, and sputum. One of your duties will include assisting inmates with daily living activities and hygiene to ensure basic physical care needs are met. You can expect to participate in life skills programing by following nursing plans, providing care and interventions consistent with inmates' needs, and documenting on assigned aspects of nursing care. Additionally, you will participate in emergency situations by performing emergency procedures such as CPR, as well as emergency response drills. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with rotating days off:
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
- 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
