Sr Manager, Credentialing

  • This position reports to the Senior Director of Physician Credentialing and Peer Review. This role provides strategic leadership, management, and oversight for all company credentialing activities, contributing to the direction of the broader functional area. The Senior Manager owns critical projects from inception to implementation, translating insights into action and ensuring departmental goals align with Village priorities. This leader supervises teammates, shapes team culture, and develops and implements procedures that ensure compliance with DaVita Medical Staff Bylaws, policies, and regulatory requirements. The Senior Manager serves as a key liaison to CAC members, legal counsel, and practitioners, and is viewed as an enterprise influencer, driving discussions with key leaders and stakeholders to resolve complex credentialing and privileging issues.
  • Strategic Leadership and Ownership:

  • Owns complex projects and processes, such as CVO, CAC/CPRC, and policy changes, from inception to implementation, driving accountability for results.
  • Interprets data trends to adjust team goals, resource allocation, and project strategies as needed.
  • Translates insights and broader organizational goals into actionable plans and measurable deliverables for the team.
  • Takes ownership of the strategic direction for the team's credentialing software, including decisions related to enhancements and long-term improvements.
  • Team Development and Culture:

  • Provides daily oversight, coaching, and direction to direct reports, completing Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) and addressing performance issues.
  • Shapes team culture by designing initiatives that align with Village goals and fostering an environment of psychological safety and belonging.
  • Strengthens talent development by identifying teammates' growth opportunities and aligning projects to build their skills.
  • Engages teammates by sharing business information, solving problems collaboratively, and actively seeking teammate ideas to identify solutions.
  • Influence and Communication:

  • Acts as a primary liaison with the Credentialing Advisory Committee, governing bodies, legal, and practitioners on sensitive and complex matters.
  • Drives discussion with key leaders and stakeholders to share meaningful insights and delivers persuasive recommendations to senior audiences.
  • Effectively networks throughout the organization and is viewed as an enterprise influencer.
  • Maintains effective and proactive communication with operations teammates and facility governing bodies, providing expert guidance on credentialing and privileging matters.
  • Process and Compliance Management:

  • Develops, implements, and refines policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DaVita Medical Staff Bylaws, federal and state law, and best-demonstrated practices.
  • Leads credentialing processes and CAC activities, including the preparation of meeting minutes and executive summaries.
  • Maintains and applies a working knowledge of peer review protection statutes to all credentialing, privileging, and peer review materials.
  • Encourages a growth mindset within the team, framing setbacks as learning opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree and eight years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPCS or CPMSM certification is highly preferred
  • Strategic and Goal-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to interpret data, translate broad objectives into measurable targets, and adjust strategies to meet goals.
  • Ownership and Accountability: Proven experience owning projects from inception to implementation and driving accountability for results.
  • Influence and Persuasion: Excellent communication skills with experience driving discussions with senior leaders and stakeholders and delivering persuasive recommendations. Exhibits executive presence.
  • Talent Development: Demonstrated ability to develop teammates by identifying growth opportunities, providing coaching, and aligning projects to build skills.
  • Advanced Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of credentialing and privileging principles, industry standards, and relevant computerized information systems (e.g., credentialing software, Excel, PowerPoint, NPDB).
  • Critical Thinking: Solid reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities with a proven capacity to resolve complex and sensitive issues with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Availability for occasional travel and evening/weekend work as needs arise.
