OverviewMicrosoft's Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.The Cloud Sourcing, Security and Sustainability (CS3) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. ResponsibilitiesOperational & Capacity Management Audit and assess supplier manufacturing capacity to ensure alignment with Microsoft's short- and long-term supply requirements. Validate supplier readiness and scalability for new product introductions (NPIs) and production ramps. Track and manage factory utilization, lead times, and production yield performance. Manufacturing Process Excellence Lead on-site and virtual audits to evaluate manufacturing process maturity, equipment readiness, and quality control systems. Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Sourcing teams to identify and mitigate process risks. Drive implementation of corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and Lean manufacturing practices. Product Lifecycle & Sustaining Operations Oversee full product lifecycle manufacturing readiness-from prototyping to end-of-life transition. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on engineering change orders (ECOs), process validations, and obsolescence management. Support teardowns and root cause analysis to identify design and process optimization opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting Act as the manufacturing interface between Microsoft and key suppliers, ensuring clear communication of requirements and performance expectations. Develop and present capacity models, process capability assessments, and audit findings to leadership.Contribute to long-term manufacturing strategy and supplier development initiatives. | |
