We are seeking a driven and experienced Principal Engineering Manager to lead security strategies across critical services. In this high-impact, high-visibility role, you will lead an engineering team and collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders across Microsoft to assess risks, identify critical data sources and mitigation strategies, and evolve defenses based on the threat landscape.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. ResponsibilitiesLead and manage software engineering team in the design, development, testing and development of technologies.Builds and maintains strategic and impactful partnerships to align cross-functional security and product teams and drive outcomes and set standards. Facilitate communication for effective collaboration between cross-functional teams, including product management, security assurance and software architects. Provide technical leadership to develop and implement engineering standards and procedures for technical excellence and high quality outcomes. Sets accountability for adherence of appropriate policies and procedures around developing, troubleshooting, and reviewing code. Ensures tools and available resources for the full code development process are appropriate.Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environmentDevelops best practices for others to review debugging tools, logs, telemetry, and other methods, and acts as an expert for others to verify assumptions through writing and developing code proactively before issues occur and reactively as issues occur across products and multiple teams. Embeds security engineering throughout the development lifecycle; defines secure coding practices, ensures regulatory compliance, and leads incident readiness and vulnerability mitigation strategies.Oversees overall system architecture of critical security services and products. Establishes processes to measure and ensure system architecture is effective and meets the current and future needs and requirementsLead by modeling Microsoft's values, coaching teams toward clear outcomes, and caring deeply about individual growth-empowering others through clarity, accountability, and support.Embody our culture and values | |
