The candidate will be involved in all areas of embedded systems and circuit design, from following an architecture and inputting requirements to development / functional implementation (including circuit layout). Designs will be simulated/evaluated for functional performance, signal integrity, and power supply sensitivity, and integrated into the final product by interfacing with RF, Digital, and Software design teams. These teams may be within the local design center or other Nokia design centers around the world. You will participate in analysis and solving complex engineering problems.


  • Design, simulate, test, and document digital circuits as part of the digital design team. Design responsibilities may include any of the following areas: SoC implementation, popcorn logic, LDOs, clock circuitry, and other miscellaneous digital circuitry. There are opportunities to grow into roles with more responsibility, such as board engineer, as competencies and experience increase. Signal and Power Integrity responsibilities may also become a specialty area as your experience grows.
  • Daily tasks could include design, prototyping, production testing, and other support tasks as required.
  • Candidates must be adept at technical writing and documentation tasks to collaborate on required product documentation.
  • Candidates will be required to support project activities by participating in design reviews and technical information exchange sessions.
  • Candidates will be required to work in close cooperation with other design engineers and specialists to achieve project goals.

You have:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or Physics with coursework in Digital Design, or BSEE with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Digital Circuit Design and Signal Processing is essential, including digital modulation/demodulation principles and performance specifications.
  • Experience with tools like Siemens Expedition and Hyperlynx, as well as analytical tools like Matlab and Python, is a plus. Familiarity with measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and Logic Analyzers is preferred.
  • A positive attitude and teamwork experience are important.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to plan and organize tasks.
  • Technical leadership potential is a plus.
  • Adept Problem Solver
  • Ability to travel internationally at short notice if needed (travel overall expected to be less than 10% of the time)
