Description
Job purpose A technician trainee will possess a basic technical aptitude related to natural gas engines and compressors. A trainee is expected to be constantly learning, observing, and applying gained experience to their assigned duties. A capacity for critical thinking related to technical troubleshooting and the ability to clearly document technical job details is required as well as excellent attendance and positive attitude. - Successfully pass all assigned technical training being online, classroom and on the job
- Correctly perform all assigned shop task
- Assist upper classes of technicians on repairs
|
- Accurately complete service report and other required paperwork in a legible, understandable manner. Good technical writing and computer skills are mandatory
|
- Efficiently utilize, read, and comprehend manuals related to the equipment being repaired
- Ensure all task are completed in the safest and most proficient manner
|
- Promote good welfare and positive attitude among the company and its' divisions
- Maintain an exemplary attendance record- during training and on the job
- Perform other duties as assigned that are related to the development of a technician trainee into a higher-class technician- Class B, Class A, Journeymen and Master Journeymen

Qualifications
- Must have or be working toward a High School Diploma or GED, prefer applied certification from accredited trade school or equivalent military experience. If working toward High School Diploma or GED, Trainee must complete to maintain employment with Waukesha Pearce Industries.
- Mechanical and Technical background
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives
- Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
- Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company
- Must have a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving company vehicle
- Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirement of the Department of Transportation.
- Must maintain an exemplary attendance record
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend and twist several times a day
- Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment required (MS Word, Excel,
- PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
- Must have the ability to effectively operate test equipment, have technical critical thinking ability, and desire to learn advanced mechanical concepts
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
- Must maintain good client relations and display a positive disposition
- Must protect the company assets and interest
- Must be able to furnish all the necessary hand tools and pneumatic accessories that will be used in their day to day activities, along with a tool box for storing these tools
Working Conditions:
- Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Weekend hours as necessary
- Outside/outdoor work as required
