Hiring Range: $180,000 - $200,000

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and UMass Memorial Health has an opening for a faculty candidate in its Medical Genetics Program. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified in Pediatrics and Board Certified or Board Eligible in Genetics and possess strong clinical and teaching skills. As a pediatric geneticist, opportunities are available to work in a multidisciplinary clinic with Orthopedics, Dermatology and the Craniofacial team. Supervisory roles may include high risk obstetrics, cancer genetics, neurology and cardiology. The Division currently includes 6 dedicated genetic counselors, a nurse clinic coordinator for the UMass Down Syndrome clinic, and other ancillary staff. The position would have primary clinical responsibility with opportunities for research and collaboration with community providers. The Division of Genetics is actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents and serves as a host site for genetic counselor training.

About our Pediatrics Division:

The UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center is the only tertiary care hospital for children in central Massachusetts and offers comprehensive pediatric services, including the full range of pediatric subspecialties, a pediatric intensive care unit, a level 3 NICU, and dedicated pediatric emergency and trauma services.

Applicants will be considered for a tenure track appointment at the associate professor or professor level in Pediatrics. The position will be tailored to meet the needs of the applicant, including (in addition to the endowed chair) resources to support a robust laboratory and/or clinical research program. The UMass Department of Pediatrics offers opportunities for professional development and collaboration across pediatric subspecialties. Education of UMass medical students, graduate students, and residents is a priority for the program. The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits
