Position Summary

The Manufacturing Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing processes to ensure that targets are met efficiently and effectively, utilizing the Stellantis Production Way. This role involves managing and leading the staff while driving a culture that promotes continuous improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery, fostering a collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will bring technical functional depth and credibility, while driving key metrics and ROI to the business. The Plant Manager will possess the requisite executive leadership traits and business acumen to interface with the Senior Manufacturing leadership and Executive Management team while developing, communicating, leading and motivating the operations teams. Additionally, the plant manager challenges staff to identify areas for improvement through lean thinking initiatives such as the Stellantis Production Way, identifying cost-saving opportunities while delivering throughput and quality targets. Finally, The Plant Manager will drive change management with a passion for excellence and delivery in all manufacturing and business initiatives.

Safety



  • Identifies, and leads implementation of improvements in our site-wide safety programs. Individual takes a recognized leadership role in driving site-wide safety culture, with efforts cutting across all departments to improve our safety performance.
  • Accountable to ensure full compliance with procedures, managing deviations when they arise, and ensures all incidents are reported and followed up on appropriately
  • Ensure the elements of the site episode plan are fully implemented and sustained across the site.


  • Ensures emergency response protocol is followed and adequate communication maintained to plant WHS and leadership personnel during emergencies.


Leadership



  • Manage the development and implementation of strategic direction for plant operations, ensuring delivery of the strategy; provides feedback to the operations and maintenance teams.


  • Monitors and ensures long term budget compliance.
  • Drives the shifts to establish and meet commitments when issues arise (Who is going to do what by when?)
  • Sets clear expectations, leads by example through field interaction with operators and skilled trades facilitating decisions to resolve issues caused by ambiguity and conflict.


  • Mentors the leadership team for excellence in all aspects of the business they manage. Ensures the leadership team in turn mentors the Supervisors to strengthen leadership and to deliver performance objectives and focus on sustainable long term business improvements.
  • Accountable for the supervision, development, and performance management of direct reports.
  • Fosters a culture that recognizes the importance of Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Site Operations Lead for UAW negotiations and maintaining a healthy working relationship through various touchpoints.



Performance



  • Coaches' teams on performance gaps and opportunities to drive overall site wide performance improvements. Teams include individuals in operations, maintenance, and technical.


  • Establish the standard for our usage and execution of the operational activities (shift handover, shift reports, site optimization, start of shift meetings, shift plans); Develops and implements shift improvement plans as needed.


  • Ensures that short and long -term plans are delivered, and that departmental business plans are developed and implemented.



Compliance



  • Monitors compliance performance/rigor through periodic in the field audits and assessments.
  • Works jointly with policy owners to challenge compliance requirements to streamline/simplify overall work processes and data recording requirements.



Stellantis Production Way



  • Coaches the teams to proactively drive continuous improvement and long-term sustainability of the business.
  • Ensures longer term continuous improvement projects are developed and ensures continuous improvement through lessons learned (internal & external).
  • Focus on maintenance work processes that are critical for success to deliver maximum value out of the assets.
  • Modify current operations and maintenance training strategy to deliver ongoing capability growth yr. over yr.

Education



  • BS in Engineering or Technical education equivalent preferred

Basic Qualifications



  • Minimum of 10 years of operations experience, with previous plant manager experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required.
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Powertrain Operations (Machining and Assembly), Logistics and Maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of Stellantis Production Way or continuous improvement systems, such as TPS and Lean Manufacturing operation.
  • Knowledge of other process systems, quality systems, throughput, standardization, and product/process launch.
  • Must have proven leadership and people management skills - able to inspire, coach, develop lead multi-disciplinary teams and foster effective relationships throughout the organization.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks in parallel while managing shifting priorities.
