Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services (GbILS) provides four specific areas of expertise-Logistics Engineering, Measurement Sciences, Program Management, and Technical Support-serving the scientific, technical, and engineering needs of clients. GbILS values its innovative thinking and service-oriented team who provide services for a variety of federal government and commercial clients.  Summary: The Warehouse Specialist will perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.  
 Responsibilities
 
 
Essential Job Functions: 
 - Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
 - Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.
 - Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with (IAW) prescribed storage methods.
 - Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.
 - Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
 - Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. 
 - Packing and repacking a variety of items such as industrial, electronic, aircraft and general parts, components, equipment, and other items including printed forms and publications that require a variety of packing procedures and techniques. Packing may be for shipment or storage. 
 - Prepares documents either manually or by using automated equipment such as computer terminals and bar code wands to read, store, track, and prepare materials documentation. 
 - Uses pallet measuring gauges and automated devices to ensure that proper height, weight, and other load and storage requirements are met and damage in storage or in transit is prevented. 
 - As required, personnel assist with conducting inventories of material and equipment. 
 
  
 Qualifications
 
 
Necessary Skills and Knowledge: 
 - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and via email
 - Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position including being on your feet most of the day and lifting requirements.
 - Ability to be trained in the use of warehouse tools and manual material handling equipment.
 
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
 - Have a valid Driver's License.
 - Capable of operating lifting and material handling equipment to include forklifts, hand carts, and pallet jacks.
 - Ability to lift and carry items that weigh about twenty-three (23) kilograms (fifty (50) pounds) with mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers. 
 - Ability to frequently lift parts and equipment that weigh up to nine (9) kilograms (twenty (20) pounds). 
 - May be required to possess a valid truck and trailer license. 
 - Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
 - Previous experience in using computers as part of a military or civilian retail / store / warehouse environment.
