Job Title: Associate Design Engineer Reporting To: Manager, Sr. Design Engineering Work Schedule: Onsite - Niagara Falls, NY Moog Space and Defense Group (SDG) is projecting significant growth driven by high levels of U.S. Department of Defense spending and the thirst for human exploration. The Niagara Falls Site supplies rocket engines, propulsion systems, and propellant tanks for a variety of spacecraft, launch vehicle and strategic defense missions. We are looking for an associate design engineer to add to our growing team. Primary applications are monopropellant and bipropellant rocket engines and propulsion systems for strategic missiles, LEO, GEO and exploration missions with thrust ranges from 0.2 lbf to >500 lbf. The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance and access to U.S. export-controlled information. To be considered for this position, here's what you'll need to bring with you: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience; design and development experience) Possess experience and knowledge of MCAD software. Knowledge of Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM is preferred. Understanding design principles and having ability to produce solution concepts and drawings Experience interfacing with customers and demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills Can understand new technical concepts and products. Utilize these skills to understand risks and take appropriate action. As an Associate Design Engineer, you will: Work on mono/bi-propellant engines and propulsion systems alongside engineering team to create models, drawings and layouts in Siemens NX software Work with engineering team to come up with design solutions and associated drawings Collaborate with Manufacturing, Assembly and Test to iterate on design for manufacturability and useability Support the detailed analyses for our products including the following possible areas based on incumbent area of expertise: propulsion system conceptual layout and design, rocket engine combustion, thermal, structural, dynamic and plume analyses. Ensure drawings are complete and accurate which could include using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) methodologies to meet design, manufacturing and inspection requirements Organize and participate in design reviews, schedule estimates, program meetings Application engineer Moog standard products to meet new mission requirements. Submit drawings and documents into PLM workflows, following the process from initiation to completion Route space system fluid and electrical layouts.
