National Grid is hiring a Scheduler Cost Analyst. This role will work out of various locations on Long Island including Hicksville, Northport, Port Jefferson, and Island Park.

Key Accountabilities

The Primavera P6 Scheduler/Cost Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Prepare, maintain, and submit project schedules and budget variance analyses and forecasts plans in accordance with the Scheduling Procedure.
  • Create and maintain project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) in Primavera P6.
  • Collaborate with the project planning team to review established work order base lists and work order estimates to ensure alignment with current operating procedures and OEM requirements.
  • Assist Project Planning team in preparing outage work schedule estimates and developing detailed outage work packages for planned unit outages.
  • Determine required disciplines, man hours, parts, procedures, and drawings required to perform outage work tasks.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain financial, schedule, estimate, budget, resource, procurement, risk, and other data within Primavera P6 (Corporate Standard Scheduling Tool) throughout the project life cycle.
  • Develop and prepare Outage Scope Documents for approval by the Plant Manager and Senior Leadership and manage scope change processes.
  • Create Work Orders in Maximo Work Management System
  • Develop critical path scheduling utilizing Primavera Project Planner (P6), evaluate work progress, and recommend changes to schedules.
  • Develop what-if scenarios using P6 to optimize manpower utilization.
  • Develop outage schedule alternatives to facilitate management decisions.
  • Monitor and evaluate manpower requirements to meet budgeted work and established work plans.
  • Track compliance to estimates and review deficiencies through targeted, specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate and maintain weekly cost data reports in Excel or Access.
  • Update project forecasts and other requested project financial/status reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets for outages with the plant budget analyst.
  • Maintain consistency among plant outage work base lists in Maximo and P6.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Construction Management, or Project Management; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 2 years of experience in scheduling, engineering, business financials, construction, or project management.
  • Must have strong experience with relevant software, e.g., Microsoft Office products, and the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface and communicate with people at all levels and across organizations.
  • Must demonstrate personal accountability and excellent organizational skills to deliver performance excellence.
  • Knowledge of power plant operation and maintenance is desired.
  • Skills in work management, scheduling, SAP, Oracle, and job estimating techniques are desired.
  • Experience working with Primavera Project Planner or similar project scheduling software.
  • Ability to work independently with a high energy level and on multiple projects at the same time is required.

Salary

$105,000 - $123,000 a year
