This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.

The Sr. Associate, General Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for analyzing technology trends, designing and modifying processes, and resolving engineering issues to enhance team performance and operational efficiency.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Perform specialized technical tasks and conduct research to optimize project outcomes.
  • Design new processes and modify existing ones to improve efficiency.
  • Evaluate and resolve issues related to manufacturing, design, quality, and material engineering.
  • Develop test procedures, estimate costs, and plan and execute projects while managing project and operational budgets and supervising contractors.
  • Establish engineering standards and budgetary controls.
  • Introduce new or modified equipment, tools, software, and systems.
  • Collaborate with others to assess engineering feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and customer demand.
  • Make informed decisions within the scope of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail, effective communication, and task management skills.
  • Adhere to GxP regulations by following SOPs, maintaining documentation, and ensuring quality control.
  • Meet individual job requirements and contribute to organizational compliance.
  • Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
  • Skilled in identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Experience conducting research and data analysis to support engineering decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • High level of accuracy in documentation, testing, and compliance activities.
  • Proven ability to design and optimize processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Knowledge & experience with engineering software tools and data analysis platforms.
