About The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs (VPAFA) directly supports the university's ongoing growth in academic excellence and distinction through service of faculty, deans, and academic departments, and encourages the wellbeing of each individual in the academic community. The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs develops and implements policies and procedures to support faculty and faculty leadership. About the Opportunity The Director of Faculty Policies and Procedures will work within the Office of the Provost, and closely with all academic units and schools of the University, as well as University Human Resources. The Director will establish and manage faculty leaves, faculty contract procedures, and issues surrounding faculty compensation, as well as handle the majority of faculty requests submitted through university systems (e.g., Workday and Laserfiche). The Director will also conduct trainings and develop procedural guidelines for all Faculty Affairs staff across campus.  Qualifications: 
 
 The annual base salary range for this position is $110,925.00-129,464.00. When determining an offer, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education, training, key skills, internal peer alignment, applicable laws, contractual requirements, grant funding, and market conditions. #LI-MN1 Preferred Education: Masters Degree or JD Preferred Experience: 9 years or combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience Preferred Field of Expertise: Leadership experience creating faculty policies and procedures for a higher education institution. Experience training, consulting, and advising employees in a faculty affairs environment. Comprehensive understanding of and ability to clearly communicate all aspects of faculty affairs. Organized, resourceful, and detail oriented. Excellent decision-making skills. Expert writing and interpersonal abilities. Experience with existing USC systems. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree Minimum Experience: 7 years or combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience Minimum Field of Expertise: Familiarity with and understanding of faculty affairs in higher education and with university operations. Leadership experience supervising and providing guidance to employees in a faculty affairs environment. Experience in holding trainings and advising employees. Organized, resourceful, and detail oriented. Excellent decision-making skills. Expert writing and interpersonal abilities. Willingness to collaborate closely with team members and across various other units on campus. Manages the operations and administration of the academic life cycle for faculty. Develops and maintains faculty policies and procedures. Contributes to short- and long-term strategies for continuous improvement to faculty affairs.
