Position Summary:



The Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology seeks to hire a student recruiter and admissions assistant. This position involves developing and administering programs for identifying, recruiting, and admitting students to our graduate programs. This position will involve working closely with Ferkauf program directors and coordinators, the University's office of admissions and marketing staff, and the Dean's office staff.



Position Responsibilities:




  • Provides career and academic counseling to potential students
  • Responds to student inquiries about Ferkauf graduate programs
  • Assists students in completing application materials
  • Maintains contact with students throughout the application process
  • Participates in developing and disseminating student recruitment materials
  • Visits colleges to speak with students and meet with student advisors
  • Participates in graduate school fairs
  • Arranges visits from prospective students
  • Plans and participates in student information and orientation sessions
  • Helps to prepare student application materials for review by program faculty
  • Serves as liaison between potential applicants and program directors
  • Creates a database to track students as they progress through the application process
  • Creates a database of students who successfully completed their graduate programs to maintain alumni connections
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned



Experience & Educational Background:




  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • At least 1 year of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • A master's degree is preferred
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Strong social skills
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in using databases such as Excel and admissions programs



Salary Range:



$65,000 - $72,000
