Research on computational, machine learning methods at the intersection of AI and neuroscience

About The Lab Groups:

This position will work with two different laboratory groups. The first group is an interdisciplinary group exploring capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) on different fields such as cognitive science, social science, and linguistics.
The second group develops technologies that bridge spatial and temporal scales in neuroscience by enabling high-precision sensing and manipulation of neural activity from single cells up to large brain networks.

Duties/Responsibilities:

45%) Assist in Research and data analysis:

- developing novel ideas for solving specific problems in research projects

- troubleshooting and resolving challenges around research methods

- analyze experimental data from projects

- report and disseminate research findings as papers, posters, talks, etc

(45%) Coordinate and assist with software implementation and dissemination

- implement and test existing methods of research software

- troubleshoot and resolve challenges around software implementation, as needed

- publish and maintain software

(10%) Lab citizen

- attend regular lab meetings

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least four years;
Strong coding and communication skills;
Apply knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on precision and timeliness of execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

Publication or research experience on AI and neuroscience;
Research experience in deep learning, machine learning, computer vision, or related fields;
Familiarity with deep learning frameworks, esp. PyTorch that will be used for experiments.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $24.89 per Hour minimum up to a maximum of $26.24 per Hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75% Appointment
