Get to Know Your Team: UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups. Responsibilities The nurse manager will promote the mission and values of the organization and serve as an active advocate for providing quality patient care, excellent customer service, and efficient healthcare. As a member of the management team, the nurse manager will be involved in system planning, budgeting, manpower planning, and program development to deliver efficient, effective, and quality patient care. Qualifications Job Requirements: Bachelor's in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Requires strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of nursing and healthcare administration Demonstrated ability to make sound clinical assessments and institute safe and efficacious care within the structure of a collaborative health team Considerable knowledge of requirements by federal, state, or regulatory bodies Considerable knowledge of effective workforce utilization Knowledge of general financial management Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years' clinical nursing experience in the area of specialty Certification in a clinical specialty
