Accounting Operations Department

Vantage Accounting Operations is a shared services team responsible for accurately and efficiently recording financial transactions while building positive financial relationships with customers and vendors across North America.

The team coordinates the entry, review, and approval of day-to-day transaction processing in accordance with financial policies and department SLAs. The team members proactively engage in solving problems through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the development and implementation of continuous process improvements by maximizing the use of our technology resources, and continuing education to improve accounting operational efficiency through assessing, standardizing, and streamlining day-to-day processes. The team behaves with integrity, synergy, flexibility, respect, and initiative.

Position Overview

This role will be based in: Denver, CO and is in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

Vantage Data Centers' footprint in North America is expanding and the complexity of its operations and banking structure is growing. As such, Vantage is looking for a resourceful, agile and detail-oriented Senior Corporate Accountant to join its accounting team. The senior corporate accountant will play a critical role in the cash, intercompany, debt management and the monthly close processes, notably by ensuring cash, intercompany and debt balances are accurate and up-to-date. He/she/they will have opportunities to work cross functionally with the accounting operations, treasury and FP&A teams, and will also assist in financial reporting activities, including preparation of monthly and quarterly reports and non-routine projects as they arise.

Duties

  • Review bank statements and records cash transactions for the organization's multiple bank accounts, including payments, receipts, internal transfers, bank fees and debt waterfalls transactions.

  • Monitor and reconcile a high volume of cash accounts to ensure that bank account balances to the general ledger and any unusual items are investigated and timely posted.

  • Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable and data center accounting teams to solve incomplete, pending and irregular 3rd party transactions.

  • Track and report on cash activities at our trustee accounts.

  • Collaborate with the Finance & Accounting Systems teams to setup bank accounts in GL and bank reconciliation modules in Yardi and to resolve reconciling issues on a daily basis.

  • Coordinates with the Treasury team requests for bank reporting necessary for the Corporate Accounting team to perform their daily duties.

  • Receive, identify, and resolve a variety of internal and external inquiries concerning account statuses and transactions.

  • Contribute to non-routine projects such as real estate and business acquisitions, debt financing transactions, etc., as needed

  • Prepare debt related journal entries and debt month-end reconciliations.

  • Assists with intercompany related projects and reconciliations for month-end reporting.

  • Contribute to process documentation, standardization of processes and records, and accounting policies as the Company continues to grow.

  • Responsible for preparation of audit schedules as well as other analyses for the year-end audit.

  • Assist in preparing, coordinating, and providing year end audit documentation to internal and external auditors.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.

  • 3 or more years at a major public accounting firm or 5 or more years of experience in a relevant accounting role required.

  • Experience or working knowledge of concepts around cash, intercompany and debt.

  • Real estate industry experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Good understanding of GAAP and internal control environment required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Comfort in working in fast-paced, changing environment and ability to adapt with changes in responsibilities.

  • Ability to collaborate with individuals across the organization and "roll-up one's sleeves" to accomplish all necessary tasks.

  • Experience with SOX and internal controls preferred but not required.

  • Experience with accounting reconciling software preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of Yardi preferred but not required.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
