About This Role

The Research Technologist will support industry-driven research projects through coordination of logistics, equipment management, data handling, and outreach activities. The position involves planning and facilitating equipment transport, maintaining inventory, and managing purchasing and project expenses.

Key responsibilities include preparing, servicing, and tracking research equipment and implements for field use; organizing and managing data such as videos, evaluations, and reports; and assisting with lab and project space organization for efficient operations. The technologist will also contribute to outreach by maintaining social media updates and helping plan events such as producer engagement days, field demonstrations, and industry showcases.

This role is essential to ensuring smooth project execution, efficient resource use, and strong communication between research teams, industry partners, and stakeholders, and will assist in industry projects through logistical and project planning as well as liaison and publicity of projects as well as manage BAE Machinery laboratories.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires an associate degree and two years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • B.S. degree in some technical or management/leadership field.
  • Experience in agriculture and agricultural equipment operation and transportation.
  • CDL with large equipment trailer experience.
  • Event planning experience for large group events.
  • Social media skills and experience.
  • Shop safety and organization knowledge.
  • Long range planning of projects.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
