ESSENTIAL TASKS:

• Perform a variety of precision surface grinding operations using hand grinders
• Use portable grinders to remove surface defects such as laps, seams, pits and cracks as identified by in-process inspection. Use dyes penetrant to detect cracks.
• Check materials for dimensional accuracy.
• Visually inspect materials for surface defects and mark off for cut-off operations.
• Exercise identity by heat number, order number, or other identifying coding.
• Detect and report damaged material, improper operations. Refer questionable matters to proper supervision.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations.

NON-ESSENTIAL TASKS:

• Perform other duties as required or directed.
• At times, load and unload machine.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• General high school diploma or GED.
• Abide by the ethical standards and requirements established by the ethics code.
• Employees must be familiar with the Allvac quality policy, and this policy must be used as the guide in performing every aspect of the job.
• Use ordinary arithmetic, decimals and fractions.
• Work from shop orders, instructions, make simple use of specifications.
• Use micrometers, gauges, and scale.
• Over 6 and up to 9 months experience.
