About the Department and/or College

The iOS Design Lab is located at Texas Tech University DFW in Irving, a regional hub for education, community engagement, and workforce development. We empower students, educators, and professionals to build real-world skills in coding, AI, and entrepreneurship through immersive experiences like Swift coding courses, design sprints, and professional development workshops. Major/Essential Functions

As the part-time K-12 Program Coordinator for the iOS Design Lab, you will lead the development and delivery of youth-focused programming that inspires students and supports educators. You will collaborate closely with the Lab Director and a bench of subject matter experts to design camps, hackathons, mobile lab experiences, and teacher professional development. You will also serve as a liaison to school districts and educators, ensuring that all programming aligns with curriculum standards and student needs.   • Collaborate with the Lab Director to design and deliver K-12-focused programming, including coding camps, hackathons, mobile lab experiences, and teacher professional development.
  • Coordinate, develop and deliver teacher professional development workshops that integrate coding, AI, and entrepreneurship into classroom instruction.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to school districts, educators, and CTE coordinators to ensure alignment with curriculum and student needs.
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of students and teachers for Lab programs.
  • Assist with curriculum development and instructional planning in collaboration with SMEs.
  • Represent the Lab at school-based events such as CTE fairs, STEM nights, and educator conferences.
  • Track participation, feedback, and outcomes to support continuous improvement and reporting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with educators and school administrators.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and digital learning tools.
  • Understanding of curriculum standards and student learning outcomes.

Required Qualifications

High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching or instructional experience.
  • Experience working with K-12 students and educators.
  • Certified teacher in Career and Technical Education (CTE) or Business Education.
  • Experience developing or leading STEM or entrepreneurship programs.
  • Experience designing or delivering K-12 instructional programming.
  • Master's degree in education, instructional technology, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating school partnerships or district-level initiatives.
  • Knowledge of coding, design thinking, or entrepreneurship education.
  • Ability to lead engaging workshops and student experiences
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Familiarity with community engagement strategies and school partnerships.
