PCC Fasteners offers comprehensive product lines that cover virtually every aerospace fastening application, we produce fasteners, precision components, tooling, and engineered system solutions for the automotive, defense, industrial machinery, and other performance-driven markets.

Location Profile:

Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include: CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.

Work Location:

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Irvine, CA. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM with overtime and weekend availability as directed.

Position Summary

The Production Control and Expeditor level is responsible for ensuring the timely release, movement, and tracking of work orders through the production process. This role requires a high sense of urgency, strong communication skills, and close coordination with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales teams. The Production Expeditor will play a critical role in identifying and resolving bottlenecks to meet customer delivery schedules.

The Production Control and Expeditor manage customer critical and expedites orders to ensure operational prioritization, timely completion, accurate system and documentation processing, parts and documentation handoff, from order start to ship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible to locate orders, prioritize production sequence and move parts throughout manufacturing operations
  • Reviews component availability and customer requirements to release shop orders based upon optimized lot sizes
  • Utilize a complete knowledge of applicable scheduling procedures, techniques and documentation, and knowledge of assigned production activities and related supporting organizations.
  • Analyze work center workload and workflow to ensure timely completion of order to meet milestones while coordinating schedules and staffing with leads, supervisors and area managers
  • Maintains project trackers and action lists to engage additional stakeholders as required.
  • Develop and initiate master or detailed schedules to support manufacture of standard parts or assemblies in assigned area. Verify predetermined methods or routing data, prepare or release optimum quantities for fabrication runs, screen parts for multiple usage to avoid schedule problems or to insure a steady flow of materials. Recalculate loads on departments or adjust master or detail schedules according to engineering or methods changes, new releases, priority upgrades, rework dispositions, part or assembly shortages, or supporting supply problems. Maintain product status data to compare or monitor schedule estimates with production capability or materials support.
  • Frequent contact is required with marketing, methods engineering, document or production control, purchasing to obtain or present information applicable to assigned scheduling.
  • Performs other duties as necessary or that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Manages work order launch and system integrity.
  • Identifies interdependencies between product types and operations by developing and maintaining integrated master schedule.
  • Establish project schedule development, monitoring and analysis to identify critical path and resource allocation.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Familiarity with Supply Chain metrics and MRP systems
  • Ability to analyze production data and develop solutions
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team setting
  • High visible energy, sense of urgency, and ownership
  • Effective communication skills to teams and upper management
  • Ability to manage several tasks and priorities at a time
  • 3-5 years of related experience and/or training
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules using MS Project or equivalent

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Aerospace machining and secondary processing experience
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing environment
  • Lean manufacturing experience or background
  • Microsoft excel programming or other computer programming skills
  • ERP system reporting and analytical capabilities
  • Familiar with SIOP process; deployment, process improvement and driving stakeholder engagement

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21 to $34.75 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
