We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant III to join our dynamic finance team and support strategic decision-making through accurate cost analysis and reporting. Location: Renton, WA This position requires advanced knowledge of cost accounting principles, ERP systems, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure financial integrity and transparency. Tasks include, but are not limited to: Review, perform analysis and report on inventory, profit margins, fixed costs, and variable costs. Maintain cost standards and analyze variances between actual and standard costs. Ensure financial reporting accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning of manufacturing costs, while providing actionable insights into cost reduction opportunities. Support month-end closings and audits. Conduct routine reviews of internal procedures, identify process gaps and perform risk assessments for cost accounting functions. Support Epicor ERP enhancements and serve as a liaison between accounting, IT/ERP teams, and cross-functional leaders. Identify and lead process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and cost controls. Provide training and maintain documentation on finance processes and best practices. Support ad-hoc and data requests. Required Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough understanding of accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Advanced analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail. Ability to manage confidential information and demonstrate professional and ethical behaviors. Ability to work with large amounts of data from disparate sources and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and operating numbers. Preferred Qualifications: CPA preferred but not required. Understanding of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus but not required. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience: 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Demonstrated experience in analyzing operational and program costs, investigating variances, and providing insights for decision-making. Proven track record of working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Executive teams. Experience in process improvement and automation of financial reporting. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Prior experience utilizing an ERP system required, Epicor experience preferred. Experience with Data Visualization and Reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus but not required. Working Conditions: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
