Position Overview

A core role is involved with extracting Veterans' Electronic Health Record (EHR) data from various VA datasets and implementing stringent quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the data. These data need to be meticulously cleaned and verified to maintain high standards of data integrity. Additionally, the computer scientist is responsible for linking EHR data with other sorts of data such as publicly available census data or primary data collected in the form of participant surveys. The position requires helping to build and maintain data intake tools such as those created in Qualtrics and REDCap. Linking of diverse data sources is done through advanced data integration and matching techniques. The purpose of this work is to create comprehensive, high-quality datasets that can support advanced analytics, research, and decision-making processes to improve healthcare outcomes. The role will also involve contributing to writing and editing of manuscripts, particularly related to sections involving the use of Veterans' data. The individual will be expected to take on tasks of increasing responsibility over the course of their role with support from management.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $59.62 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.

Work Location: Remote
