The Test & Support Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of Econolite's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) products. This position is responsible for testing hardware and software components, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing product support to both internal teams and external customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about improving the safety and efficiency of roadway systems through innovative technology.

DUTIES

  • Conduct lab and field testing to verify software and hardware functionality against engineering requirements.
  • Build and maintain test environments, including traffic cabinets and radar hardware setups.
  • Develop and execute test cases for traffic controller firmware, radar detection system software, and system integration.
  • Create and run test tools, scripts, and utilities to streamline validation and automate regression testing.
  • Collaborate with developers and support teams to reproduce, debug, and verify issue resolutions.
  • Record and track test results, defects, and regression findings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in software, firmware, and hardware testing
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, Linux environments, and network protocols (TCP/IP)
  • Proficiency with Python or similar scripting languages for automation and data analysis
  • Familiarity with radar detection systems, sensors, and hardware integration
  • Experience creating and executing manual and automated test plans and cases
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of web protocols, networking, and systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally across software, hardware, and QA teams

COMPENSATION

The hourly range for this full-time position is $XX.XX- $XX.XX per hour plus benefits. Hourly ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
