Scope Service Summary:


The Manager of Event Safety/Security & Key Personnel Protection is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of assigned security operations related to corporate events, executive protection, and key personnel safety. This role intakes notice of events, performs subject matter expert assessments, and recommends mitigations to facilitate a secure environment for high visibility events attended by executives, VIPs, and other KPMG designated personnel. The Manager develops and leads security strategies that mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and maintain business resilience across all activities aligned to the risk tolerance expectations of the firm.


Location: Remote, anywhere in the U.S.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership


* Develop, implement, and oversee assigned aspects of the organization's event security and key personnel/executive protection programs


* Lead security planning for corporate events, conferences, business meetings, and other on/off-site functions.


* Collaborate with legal (OGC), human resources (T&C), Corporate Communications, Sports & Marketing, Event & Meetings, and facilities (AOE) for holistic risk managed and proactive protective planning.


* Conduct risk assessments and security intelligence reviews for travel and/or upcoming events for key personnel.


* Administer direct infusion into the service offering alignment to security policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency response protocols.


Operational Management (as requested in onsite performance or role as hybird)


* Manage on-site security operations including access control, credentialing, perimeter security, and crowd management.


* Coordinate with local law enforcement, private security providers, venues, and emergency services.


* Provide executive protection support for executive leadership, event security teams, and contracted staff.


* Oversee secure transportation, travel coordination, and residential protection for key personnel as needed.


* Maintain incident response capability and lead after-action reviews following events or security incidents.


Protective Intelligence & Risk Mitigation


* Establish and oversee threat assessment and monitoring programs for executives and major events.


* Integrate cybersecurity, physical security, and intelligence data for proactive risk management.


* Track emerging threats, protest activity, and geopolitical risks that could affect operations.


* Liaise with global security networks and protective intelligence partners.


Training & Readiness


* Develop and deliver security awareness and crisis response training for staff, event teams, and protective details.


* Conduct tabletop and live exercises for evacuation, active threat, and medical emergencies.


* Ensure compliance with all corporate, legal, and regulatory security standards.

Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred).


* 10+ years of experience in corporate security, executive protection, or event security leadership.


* Proven record managing complex events and executive protection programs for high-profile clients or corporate executives.


* Strong background in protective intelligence, risk assessment, and crisis management.


* Experience working with law enforcement, government agencies, and international partners.


* Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.


* Relevant certifications such as CPP, PSP, CEM, or PPS highly desirable.


* Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
