Industrial Engineer

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a results-driven Industrial Engineer to join our Human Resources and Labor Relations team. This unique role blends traditional IE responsibilities with a strong focus on workforce analytics, labor-cost optimization, and incentive-program design. The ideal candidate will bring a data-driven mindset to support strategic decision-making around labor utilization, overtime management, and performance-based compensation.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Analyze workforce data to identify trends in labor utilization, overtime, absenteeism, and productivity.

• Develop and maintain labor standards, time studies, and engineered work measurements.

• Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Finance to evaluate and improve incentive pay programs.

• Support labor relations initiatives by providing data and insights for contract negotiations and grievance resolution.

• Design and implement dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key labor metrics.

• Partner with HRIS and IT to ensure data integrity and accessibility for workforce analytics.

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and statistical tools.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in industrial engineering, workforce analytics, or labor optimization.

• Experience with labor standards and incentive systems.

• Familiarity with union environments and labor agreements is a plus.
