The IT Business Analyst II serves as a trusted connector between business leaders and IT, identifying opportunities for process improvement and translating business requirements into functional specifications to optimize technology solutions. This position is responsible for supporting and improving enterprise applications and initiatives across multiple
departments. The IT Business Analyst II builds strong relationships and collaborates with a variety of teams and stakeholders, often taking ownership of projects, leading process improvements, and ensuring effective connectivity between business needs and technology capabilities. The role regularly works on applications and initiatives of moderate
to complex scope.

Key Responsibilities



  • Act as the primary liaison for a set of business applications, providing guidance on system capabilities and process alignment.
  • Proactively review and optimize business processes and standards utilizing technology.
  • Customize or configure permissions, workflows, data models, or reporting, within supported platform and tools.
  • Translate and facilitate integration needs between systems and guide implementation plans.
  • Lead the evaluation and onboarding of new applications or enhancements.
  • Define and track application KPIs including adoption, usage, performance, and satisfaction.
  • Facilitate and execute UAT in collaboration with business users.
  • Act as liaison between IT, the application vendor, and business teams to translate needs into technical requests that are unable to be configured within the platform.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contribute to contract/license renewals.
  • Drive or mentor on the responsibilities required of an IT Business Analyst I as needed.


Experience and Education



  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in business analysis, IT consulting, or a similar platform/application support role, demonstrating increased responsibilities beyond entry-level positions.
  • Proven ability to work independently on projects of moderate to complex scope.
  • Demonstrated experience writing clear and actionable functional specifications, user stories, and test plans.
  • Solid understanding of business environments, workflow/process improvement, and system integrations.
  • Familiarity with software evaluation, licensing models, and IT governance processes.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with developers, vendors, and business leads to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, lead process improvement initiatives, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical and business concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated progression in business analysis responsibilities and technical skills, indicative of a step up from entry-level business analyst positions.


Preferred Qualifications (not required):



  • Experience with enterprise application platforms such as ERP, CRM, or industry-specific systems.
  • Certification in business analysis, project management, or related fields (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile, Six Sigma).
  • Hands-on experience with process modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN).
  • Working knowledge of data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Background working in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial services environment.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, SaaS solutions, or integration middleware.
  • Familiarity with change management practices and tools.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior analysts.

Travel Requirements: As part of the national construction team, this role involves being on-site at a wide range of locations across the country, with placements typically lasting 8 months or more.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $79,100 to $698,880+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements Craft/Construction Site Environment

The work environment involves various construction site settings, where employees are often exposed to outdoor weather conditions, uneven terrain, and other potential hazards such as high or confined spaces, elevated noise levels, and electrical risks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand or walk for long periods of time and use hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects. The employee is frequently required to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds while carrying tools. Reach for, handle, and grasp wires and hand tools, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, and work in small places, lift and carry objects weighing twenty-five pounds (frequently) and fifty pounds (occasionally). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception; recognizing slight differences in shapes or shading, and ability to adjust focus.

Safety remains a top priority. Employees must strictly adhere to site safety protocols, which include wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and safety glasses. Role-specific PPE will be provided.
