Job Summary


Postdoctoral Fellows are individuals who have earned their doctorate in Psychology degree (PhD or PysD) and need to earn 1500 clinical hours to be eligible to sit for licensure. The Fellowship position allows for these individuals to earn hours under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist. Within the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland infrastructure, these individuals do direct clinical service in the Mental/Behavioral Health space, potentially in both inpatient and clinic settings, as well as holding an outpatient caseload. These individuals also have opportunities to engage in supervision, didactic training, and program development opportunities.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will serve as an assistant to the licensed therapist during study sessions and drug dosing session for a number of research studies assessing the safety and effects of various novel therapeutics in diverse clinical and healthy populations in a clinical research setting. Duties include assisting therapy staff with documentation, data collection, and monitoring patient care and wellbeing during study visits under the direct supervision of therapy staff.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will provide support to evidence-based psychotherapy under supervision of licensed therapists using the research protocol. Under the supervision of licensed therapists, the incumbent may help provide psychotherapy, using evidence-based practices that are effective for the service population. Incumbent may also provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients with mental health disorders under direct supervision of licensed therapists.

You will be joining a dynamic, multidisciplinary research group focused on testing novel treatments for difficult to treat social deficits that cut across psychiatric disorders.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications

* PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or associated field
* Completion of Pre-doctoral internship in Psychology
* This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
