Job Summary

The Division Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and oversight for HR units within a division(s) or college, ensuring alignment with institutional policies, values, and long-term goals. Responsibilities include recruitment and staffing, employee relations, performance management, and professional development. The role serves as a liaison between the division/college, central HR, and other departments to ensure consistency, compliance, and collaboration. The Director sets team goals, designs organizational structures, evaluates performance, delivers feedback, and establishes workforce strategies. This position reports directly or indirectly to the Executive Director of HR, or the College/Division Executive, depending on structure.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Collaborate with GTHR on the development and execution of short- and long-term workforce strategies for the division or college, ensuring alignment with Institute-wide goals and strict adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.

Job Duty 2 - Partner with unit executive leaders in support of Institute strategies. Maintain cooperative relationships with organizational stakeholders (faculty administration, ASC, Employee Relations, GTHR, Compensation, etc.) to ensure robust and holistic human resources plans are implemented seamlessly.

Job Duty 3 - Direct HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, appointments, performance management, compensation, benefits, talent management, and employee engagement, ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational excellence with leadership accountability; including faculty administration where applicable.

Job Duty 4 - Analyze workforce data and performance metrics to identify trends, evaluate opportunities, and implement improvement initiatives to meet organizational objectives.

Job Duty 5 - Partner with Talent Acquisition and the ASC to lead and optimize divisional recruitment needs, addressing process barriers and ensuring effective job postings, candidate selection, and hiring to attract and retain high-quality talent.

Job Duty 6 - Monitor HR staff performance to ensure consistency, high-quality service delivery across business units, and lead professional development initiatives to address training needs and meet performance expectations

Job Duty 7 - Advise Executive Leadership and managers on complex HR issues. Partner with finance leaders for effective financial planning and stewardship.

Job Duty 8 - Act as the primary Human Resources liaison to central HR and OFA, facilitating effective communication and coordination on university-wide HR initiatives and compliance matters.

Job Duty 9 - Monitor for compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies. Ensure timely reporting and audits for HR related compliance areas. Maintain and enforce internal controls and confidentiality standards for HR data and processes.

Job Duty 10 - Perform other duties as assigned to support human resources objectives and contribute to the broader mission of the Institute.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience

Required Experience:

10+ years of relevant experience, including 6+ years of supervisory knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Professional in Human Resources (PHR)

Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)

Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional/Senior Certified Professional (SHRM CP/SCP)

Preferred Educational Qualifications:

Master's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience

Anticipated salary range $147,618 to $163,000, commensurate with qualifications.
