$23.80 - $29.24 / hr, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Summary

McKee Foods Corporation is seeking a Furniture Installation Specialist to join the Corporate Industrial and Architectural Engineering team. Commercial Interiors Specialist supports the company's interior design and engineering management initiatives by performing basic CAD work, assisting with office furniture construction and installation, and coordinating interior setups within non-industrial spaces such as offices, conference rooms, and the corporate conference center. This position ensures that workspaces are functional, well-maintained, and aligned with company standards for safety, aesthetics, and efficiency. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Interior Designer through basic CAD drafting and layout updates for office and facility interiors
  • Assemble, install, and repair office furniture, fixtures, and related equipment
  • Move and arrange furniture and materials in offices, conference rooms, and corporate meeting spaces as needed
  • Coordinate and execute setup for meetings and large corporate or community events, including moving modular walls, setting up chairs, stages, and audiovisual equipment
  • Collaborate with vendors to complete special projects, installations, or complex repairs
  • Escort and monitor all vendors while they are accessing company facilities to ensure compliance with safety and security policies
  • Utilize hand tools and basic power tools for repairs, installations, and furniture adjustments; maintain tools in safe working order
  • Communicate with the Interior Designer and Engineering team regarding project progress, maintenance needs, and workspace improvements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage and workspace areas
  • Ensure adherence to all food manufacturing safety and hygiene standards when working near production zones or company facilities

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Familiarity with space planning, understanding of technical drawings, including interpreting symbols, lines, scales, and building codes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Proficiency with measurement tools
  • Good understanding of office furniture assembly, installation, and repair
  • Ability to lift and move moderate to heavy furniture and materials safely
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with internal departments and external vendors
  • High attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Basic understanding of safety standards applicable to office and manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) or ability and willingness to learn
  • Prior experience supporting interior design or facilities management in a corporate or manufacturing setting
  • Experience setting up large meetings or events, including stage and audiovisual configurations
  • Knowledge of vendor management and furniture maintenance practices
  • Forklift certification or ability and willingness to learn
