From your PASSION to ours Lactalis is seeking a Laboratory Management Coordinator to join our high-performing, multi-platform dairy production facility in Reed City, MI. With over 400 employees and 15 production lines, this site plays a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality dairy products across the Dairy Business Unit. Requirements
From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: As the Laboratory Management Coordinator, you will build and lead a team of laboratory professionals, and oversee all aspects of lab development and operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards. * Lead and supervise laboratory personnel, including task assignments, performance monitoring, and training. * Develop and manage a robust lab quality assurance program to ensure reliable analytical and microbiological results. * Create and maintain laboratory testing schedules and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements. * Oversee calibration, validation, and maintenance of lab equipment and food safety tools. * Maintain accurate documentation of lab activities, including test results, logs, and training records. * Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Logistics, and Quality teams. * Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions related to lab testing issues. * Promote a culture of quality, safety, and compliance throughout the facility. * Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes. * Manage lab budget and resources effectively. * Develop and implement training programs for lab staff. * Ensure compliance with all safety regulations in the lab environment. From your STORY to ours Qualified applicants will contribute the following: Minimum Qualifications * 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting within a manufacturing environment (preferably dairy/food processing). * Experience leading or supervising a team. * Strong knowledge of laboratory testing principles, GMPs, and quality control regulations. * Familiarity with lab equipment and testing methodologies. * Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Flexibility to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including weekend on-call and occasional early/late hours. * Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in engineering, Food Science, or other Science related field. * Experience with IR or NIR testing equipment in a laboratory environment. * 5+ years of experience in sanitation, quality, food safety, or related disciplines.
