This position interacts with volunteers, management, employees, patients, and the general public on a regular basis and is responsible to lead customer service initiatives and provide support service resources for departments in need. Must be able to function in a practice environment with minimal direct supervision, accepting personal responsibility for maintaining a professional relationship with Renown's patients, their families, the care team, potential and actual volunteers in the community. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, background checks, volunteer ID badges and proximity card access, maintain volunteer files, training, evaluating, placement, and scheduling of volunteers. This includes compliance with Renown policies, standards of conduct, local, state, and federal laws, The Joint Commission/OSHA regulations, HIPAA, and corporate compliance. This position evaluates the program to monitor planning, development and improvement through communication and collaboration with department and entity staff where volunteer positions are in place and to ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation. This position ensures goals of the Volunteer Program are in keeping with the organizational mission. This includes facilitating supportive working relationships between departments and volunteers. Incumbent encourages departmental participation in the evaluation and improvement processes of the programs. This position ensures and incorporates policies and procedures, guidelines, standards, and job descriptions for each volunteer in each position to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. This position directly responsible for working with Renown and community organization leaders. This position coordinates of program special events and community outreach in coordination with other Renown departments as necessary. This position does not provide patient care.
