Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership's fuel distribution operations, which serve approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers, and distributors.

Summary:

This position will play a key role in developing, implementing, and managing internal and external communications that enhance Sunoco's brand, strengthen employee engagement and support the company's strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing internal and and external communications (memos, letters, fact sheets, brochure copy, etc.)

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations, etc.) to develop clear and consistent messaging across all platforms
    • Manage updates to company website
    • Manage content creation and updates to company intranet site.

  • Media Relations

    • Monitor media coverage and industry news to identify communication needs
    • Manage Sunoco's media phone line and inbox, ensuring timely responses
    • Drafting media materials (talking points, statements, etc.) as needed
    • Distribute the Daily Media Report to key internal stakeholders

  • Support crisis communications efforts
  • Support communication integration efforts during acquisitions and corporate transitions
  • Provide Executive Leadership with team with project support (customer communications, logistics coordination, etc.)
  • Marketing support

    • Assist with design, layout, and production of presentations, graphics, and visual materials
    • Assist in preparation of Dealer and Distributor trips, biennial Brand Show and other events
    • Assist with updating Sunoco's social media channels and Wikipedia page
    • Assist with branding support across all Sunoco locations

  • Assist coordination of Sunoco's Town Hals at all locations (PowerPoint presentations and logistics)
  • Assist with various communications as needed across the Partnership (SUN, ET, USAC)
    • Ensure alignment with Energy Transfer Corporate Communications group

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum three years of experience in Communications, Public Relations or a related field
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience in handling crisis communications
  • Experience with content management systems and intranet platforms
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of senior leadership, employees and vendors
  • Mange multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
