HR Service Center Senior Consultants provide advanced support for the Human Resources Service Center, which supports associates and management with a variety of Human Resources needs. This position acts as the subject matter expert for leaves of absence, short and long-term disability, workers compensation, and Company policies. Senior Consultants support the associate experience by identifying associate needs and providing unparalleled service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers Leave of Absence processes including Family Medical Leave, Medical Non FMLA, Military Leave, Short Term & Long Term Disability and Workers Compensation in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy. Performs leave eligibility decisioning and responsible for all leave related associate correspondence. Takes ownership of complex and escalated cases. Supports associates and managers as a subject matter expert and provides consultation regarding inquiries on leaves of absence, company policy, payroll, and benefits. Maintains an advanced working knowledge of employment law, company and departmental policies and procedures. Reviews and interprets policies based on individual situations and advises associates and management on steps for resolution. Acts as escalation point for HR Service Center Consultants, assisting with inquiries on complex calls and requests to provide timely, equitable, and courteous resolution by adhering to SLAs. Acts as a liaison between associates and managers with HR Business Partner Services, and other Centers of Expertise. Manages COVID-19 process through providing guidance to associates and managers on quarantine recommendations, contact tracing, safety protocols, and screening associates for return to work eligibility. Identifies and escalates high risk operational and customer issues proactively to management. Provides feedback and recommends process improvements to management. Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NONE
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other related field. Four or more years Human Resources experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience providing guidance to associates or managers on leave of absence, disability, accommodations, benefits, or associate matters. SHRM-CP or PHR preferred. Proven understanding of HR processes, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of federal or state Leave and Disability regulations, specifically ADA/ADAAA and FMLA. Ability to use independent judgement to decision work. Highly organized with ability to prioritize duties during periods of high volume and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to follow existing processes with high attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Time management skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work well across teams.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Accurate and efficient data entry skills with attention to accuracy and quickness. Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions. Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines. Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions. Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions. Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
