Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Operations Manager to oversee our Fabrication and Assembly operations. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our SMC facility with every Friday off.

In this role, you will report to the Senior Operations Manager and be responsible for authorizing and monitoring work performed in your assigned SMC facility. Candidate must be able to qualify as a Nuclear Facility Manager and should have working knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes as well as experience with facility systems operations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage activities of a broad functional area through non-exempt and exempt specialists. Provide direction to employees according to established policies, procedures, and management guidance.
  • Manage, train and motivate staff to meet unit targets and objectives. Manage employees that perform similar or related tasks. May supervise more than one shift or work unit and subordinate managers.
  • Working knowledge of production scheduling and schedule risk mitigation.
  • Support compliance with programs such as ISMS, Contractor Assurance Program, Quality Assurance Program, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance.
  • Manage work by providing guidance and direction to other staff and coordination between multiple organizations within and outside of SMC.
  • Understand strategic importance of collaboration between Operations, Engineering and Maintenance organizations and able to provide the ability to prioritize, recognize critical path items and resource conflicts.
  • Responsible for all aspects of human capital; performance reviews, timekeeping, positive recognition and all disciplinary actions for direct reports and technicians.
  • Implement strategy as defined by the SMC Senior Operations Manager.
  • Oversee operational activities to ensure the facility is operated safely and in full compliance with all laboratory requirements, federal and state regulations, orders, and permits.
  • Accountable for asset management and budgeting to ensure facility, equipment, and operating procedures are adequate and ready to carry out the SMC mission.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree and 4 years of direct operations and manufacturing experience. In lieu of degree, a High School diploma or equivalent and 10 or more years' relevant experience in an operations facility environment.
  • Candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment are preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to qualify as a Nuclear Facility Manager and should have working knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes as well as experience with facility systems operations.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information:

  • The target pay range for this position is ($99,627 min to $153,664 max) annually. The full pay range is ($91,812 - $220,332). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
