Job Overview:

  • The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking a Medical Doctor to serve as Regional Medical Director in the East TN Region in Knoxville, TN.
  • The East TN Regional Medical Director oversees and supports the regional health services of 15 local health departments and a mobile clinic.
  • Programs include primary care, vaccine programs,
  • STD clinics, family planning and more.
  • This leadership position provides oversight to local physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and others.
  • This position reports to the State Medical Director and is part of Community Health Services division.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Key Responsibilities: Cultivates a climate of excellence, trust, and compassion.
  2. Remains up to date on best practices in medicine with focus on patient-centered care.
  3. Collaborates with other regional, metropolitan, and state leaders to implement improvements in access to care.
  4. Active leader in clinical staffing,
  5. Seeing patients one day per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: MD or DO degree Valid and unrestricted Tennessee medical license Valid DEA license Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care specialty such as Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
