About the Position:

The Salesforce DevOps Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the release management infrastructure and DevOps practices that enable efficient, reliable deployments across our Salesforce ecosystem. This role bridges the gap between Salesforce administrators and developers by owning the platform infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and release orchestration. The position holder will have deep expertise in Copado and will establish governance frameworks that ensure deployment quality, minimize risk, and accelerate time-to-value for business initiatives.

Responsibilities:

DevOps & Automation

  • Designs, implements, and maintains CI/CD pipelines using Copado as the primary platform, along with supporting tools such as Gearset, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions;
  • Manages source control strategies, branching models, and merge policies to ensure code quality and deployment integrity; and
  • Automates metadata deployments, data seeding, regression testing, and establish release governance policies.

Release Management

  • Coordinates and executes Salesforce deployments across all environments while managing release calendars and deployment windows;
  • Facilitates release readiness reviews, stakeholder sign-offs, rollback plans, and communicates release impacts to technical and business teams; and
  • Tracks and reports on deployment metrics and maintains deployment standards.

Environment Management

  • Plans and executes sandbox refreshes, maintains environment naming conventions, data masking policies, and test data integrity; and
  • Implements tooling to automate sandbox creation and refresh cycles while coordinating environment availability across development teams.

Platform Health & Monitoring

  • Monitors deployment performance, integration stability, and overall org health using tools such as Salesforce Health Check, Splunk, New Relic, and native Salesforce monitoring dashboards;
  • Manages system alerts, logs, and usage metrics while identifying and remediating performance bottlenecks and recurring deployment issues;
  • Plans for and coordinates Salesforce seasonal releases, including impact assessment, sandbox preview testing, and ensuring org readiness before release activation; and
  • Conducts root cause analysis and generates reports on platform health and deployment trends.

Integration Oversight

  • Supports and monitors integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems;
  • Manages connected apps, API users, authentication flows, and validates integration health post-release; and
  • Collaborates with integration teams to ensure deployment pipelines accommodate middleware components.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Considerable (typically 5+ years) experience working with Salesforce platform in a technical capacity;
  • Considerable (typically 3+ years) experience with Salesforce DevOps tools and release management;
  • Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks;
  • Experience with sandbox management, environment strategy, and data management;
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments;
  • Strong proficiency with Copado (deployment pipelines, quality gates, automation);
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce metadata architecture, dependencies, and deployment mechanisms;
  • Expert knowledge of version control systems (Git) and branching strategies;
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce security model, authentication, and API management;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex deployment issues;
  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator; and
  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Copado Certified DevOps Engineer or Copado Certified Administrator;

  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Splunk, New Relic, Datadog, Grafana);
  • Hands-on experience with integration platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica);
  • Experience managing DevOps practices in large, complex Salesforce implementations (multiple orgs, high transaction volumes);
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Provar, Copado Robotic Testing);
  • Experience with Salesforce DX and scratch org development models;
  • Advanced Copado expertise including Copado Robotic Testing, Quality Gates, and Compliance Hub;
  • Background in software development or Salesforce development (Apex, Lightning, APIs);
  • Background in SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles;
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools;
