Position Summary

The Associate Credit Analyst position is a key member of the Credit Research team within the Fixed Income Group. As an Associate, you will work closely with experienced credit research analysts to monitor investment positions and generate recommendations, primarily for our bank loan portfolios. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundamental credit modeling, business valuation, and relative value analysis in a fast-paced trading floor environment.

This is a two-year program with exposure to multiple industry sectors across Credit Research. Outstanding performers may be considered for a full-time offer at the conclusion of the program, subject to performance and business needs.

This role requires candidates to work from the TCW Los Angeles office 5 days a week.



Essential Duties

    Support Senior Analysts in the investment analysis of leveraged loans and bonds
  • Build and maintain financial models and databases to monitor and analyze existing and prospective investments
  • Monitor and synthesize news flow: company announcements, regulatory filings, sell-side research, ratings reports, etc., with a focus on leveraged loan market positions
  • Communicate with external analysts and portfolio company management
  • Partner with the trading team to share portfolio updates and investment theses for new issues
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reports, credit summaries, and other internal research


Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-6 years of experience in buy-side/sell-side research, investment banking, leveraged finance, credit, private credit, private equity, or related fields
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college with strong academic performance and relevant coursework
  • Strong finance, math, and Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary base is $125k. This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
