Description

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Quality Assurance Associate to join our team! This position will perform a final inspection of completed work in order to ensure it was completed in accordance with established procedures. Reject and return to those units where a defect has been identified. Conduct root-cause analysis of defect trends and contribute to the problem-solving process. Provide recommendations on opportunities for improvement within assigned processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Become familiar with all unit tasks with a primary responsibility in one of the following process groups as it relates to the needs of the unit:

    • Deposit Operations

      • Learn to validate new deposit account openings, assisting in ensuring accurate data entry and understanding the key steps involved.
      • Learn to review deposit maintenance reports, identifying defects.


    • Loan Boarding and Maintenance

      • Learn and assist consumer loan boarding reviews, ensuring accuracy with guidance.
      • Learn to review loan maintenance tasks, such as minor updates (e.g., payment changes or address updates), while learning the key policies and procedures.


    • Bank Control Records (BCR) Updates and OTE requests/reviews

      • Learn to review BCR updates, such as routine rate changes or simple adjustments, ensuring correct data entry and understanding bank policies. Day 1 and Day 2 processes.
      • Learn the process of validating OTE requests, reviews and workflow adjustments.


    • Administrative Tasks

      • Document results of inspections, and gain familiarity with the reporting process.
      • Participate in training programs focused on the assigned process group.
      • Maintain acceptable productivity and accuracy as you learn and apply the process knowledge.






In order to be successful in this position, we require the following:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Six (6) months of financial service, customer service or related processing experience.


The following would be a plus:



  • Banking experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
