Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - Tenure track faculty position in Department of Psychiatry amp; Behavioral Health; serves as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on sponsored research grants and on original research projects; conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in the areas of Psychiatry, Neuroscience, and Behavioral Health; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain funding to support research program; secures and maintains NIH RO1 or equivalent funding; writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attends and makes presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation; instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in division, department, college and university committees and initiatives. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health is seeking faculty members (open rank) to join the department regardless of rank. Successful candidates will have a strong record of external research funding, as well as expertise in developing, leading or substantially contributing to research, education, and clinical programs. Faculty responsibilities include advancing an externally funded program of research, publishing research in high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals, mentoring trainees across levels of academic development, and participating in division, department, college and university committees and initiatives. Specific research focus in the areas of Psychiatry, Neuroscience, and Behavioral Health are encouraged to apply. Applicants with expertise in randomized clinical trial designs, or related personalized treatment approaches are particularly encouraged to apply. OSU Psychiatry and Behavioral Health has a rapidly growing research faculty, with over 20 tenure track faculty, and includes projects in neuromodulation, neurocomputation, personalized medicine approaches, neural and behavioral mechanisms underly risk for such illnesess, and innovative treatment modalities and strategies for prevention and treatment. The mood and anxiety programs are embedded in our multidisciplinary environment such that research opportunities are and can be embedded within clinical service delivery models. Applicants must have an advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D.), with specialization in Psychiatry or Clinical Psychology from an accredited program and following accredited training pathways in alignment with suitability for licensure and clinical practice in the State of Ohio. Those with clinical degrees must be licensed in Ohio by the time of appointment. In some cases, individuals with substantial research programs and funding, and without clinical training or eligibility may be considered for this role (e.g., Ph.D., in Cognitive Neuroscience or similar), provided they are actively interested in, and demonstrate prior commitment to training clinical professionals and supporting clinical care.
