Description

The Overhaul & Repair Inspection Apprentice will aid and support the manufacture processing of overhaul and repair aerospace components which are critical to the flight safety on both rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft.

Responsibilities:



  1. Ability to learn and evaluate overhaul inspection result and disposition accordingly
  2. Ability to develop repair procedures per DMWR, approved planning, and customer requirement to expeditiously and cost effectively repair components as required
  3. Ability to create inspection plans for overhaul and repair as required per DMWR and customer requirement
  4. Ability to develop and create planning and standard work processes to support analysts, engineers and applicable personnel.
  5. Provide thorough documentation and communication of regular job activities such as problem resolution, continuous improvement, engineering tests etc.
  6. Formulate and design tooling fixtures for new components and existing components
  7. Assist in assembly and testing as required
  8. Interact with customers as required
  9. Assist in planning and expediting repairs as required
  10. Assist in the development of SAR (Source Approval Request) packages for future business


The position requires confident and quick decision making in a fast-paced repair environment. The ability to move from one task to another on a moment's notice is essential.

Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended period of time.
  • Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement.
  • Frequent twisting and bending.



Unusual Environmental Conditions:



  • Loud machining environment; exposure to aerospace metals, lubricants, and chemicals.



Required Personal Protective Equipment:



  • Safety glasses/shields, appropriate manufacturing closed toed footwear, hearing protection may be required or other protective equipment as needed.



Qualifications - Required



  • US Citizen
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 Year of Aerospace Inspection Experience
  • Familiarity with ISO / AS9100 requirements and/or Auditing Skills
  • Basic math or industrial mathematics desired.
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving skills required
  • Strong organizational skills required
