Base Compensation Range: $79,000 - $98,750
*In addition, you qualify for:
- Annual bonus opportunity of 12% based on company performance

This position supports Mesa's SDC business. Our Sterilization and Disinfection Control division manufactures and sells biological and chemical indicators that assess the effectiveness of sterilization and disinfection processes for pharmaceutical, healthcare, and dental industries.
Job Summary:
The Associate Manager for Spore Strip Packaging and PCD Manufacturing cells is responsible for directing and optimizing operations within these specialized production areas. This role focuses on scheduling work, coordinating resources, training team members, and driving process improvements to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing. The Associate Manager acts as a technical resource and collaborates across departments to meet production goals and enhance capability.
Duties/Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Manage daily operations for spore strip packaging and PCD manufacturing cells.
- Develop and maintain work schedules to meet production targets.
- Track production metrics and adjust workflows to ensure goals are met.
Training & Development
- Train team members on packaging, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate training documentation and ensure competency across all assigned tasks.
- Provide coaching, set expectations, and complete performance evaluations.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, GMP).
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality control procedures.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
- Lead safety training initiatives and participate in hazard assessments.
- Investigate safety incidents and implement preventive measures.
Process Improvement & Capability Building
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Manage projects aimed at optimizing spore strip packaging and PCD manufacturing processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve production issues.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions to align production goals with company objectives.
- Proactively look ahead to understand potential impacts related to materials, quality, personnel, and capacity, and work to resolve or appropriately escalate concerns as needed.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including shift reports and quality metrics.
- Prepare and present performance reports highlighting key metrics, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years in a manufacturing environment with 1 - 2 years of team leadership or project management experience.
Knowledge & Skillsets Required:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools for tracking production metrics.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
