This Senior Process Engineer role is based in Rockland, ME (onsite). - Design, install, and start up new processing or packaging equipment and systems.
- Monitor and analyze food production processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain reliability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Develop and review SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and food safety regulations.
- Collect and analyze production and process data; prepare reports and actionable recommendations.
- Lead technical segments and assume responsibility for highly challenging projects, achieving solutions to complex problems.
- Champion the identification and integration of technologies from inside and outside the organization to pursue high-value opportunities for production assets or new products.
What Makes You the Right Fit
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food processing or manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of processing equipment such as mixers, pumps, heat exchangers, conveyors, and packaging lines.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and control diagrams.
- Working knowledge of CAD or design software preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work effectively on the production floor and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Current and valid driver's license.
How Would You Stand Out?
- Familiarity with food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP, SQF).
- Experience with SAP or similar systems for data and process management.
- Established reputation as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a technical field, providing technical oversight and mentoring others.
