Overview

In this role, you'll provide guidance, training, and leadership within the Manufacturing Sourcing Group and for initiatives and projects of which the group is a part of.

Job Responsibilities:

    Identify opportunities to help Haskell reduce expenses and/or provide savings while minimizing risk in the sourcing process. Be an integral part of the initial design and ongoing improvement of Strategic Sourcing Process and Guidelines
  • Supervise and lead the project coordinator team which will involve:
    • PreCon coordination
      • Provide, receive, and communicate current market and project pricing information related to the equipment and services that are in the Group's scope
      • Provide, receive, and communicate current market availability and lead times related to the equipment and services that are in the Group's scope
      • Align the Sourcing and Pre-Cons financial budget and account structures for efficient flow and review of the information
    • Project Procurement Administration
      • Setting up the project financial budget on Procore for the applicable Equipment and Services in Scope for the Sourcing Group
      • Initiating commitments and vendor administration communication once the commitments are executed
    • Accounts Payable coordination
      • Ensure Project Coordinators are keeping SCPO/Metaviewer up to date and providing notes for review
    • Determine and monitor priorities of tasks assigned to the Team and report on the progress compared to the expected date of completion
    • Providing performance evaluations (MAP Reviews) and other Human Resource functions as required
    • Training of new Team hires and cross training of existing Haskell employees to ensure adherence to established process and procedures
    • Other duties as needed for sourcing for projects
  • Lead the development, documentation, and training of strategic sourcing practices including the following:
    • The sourcing and qualifying of commodity equipment (little to no engineering modifications required)
    • The sourcing and qualifying of highly engineered equipment (project specific)
    • The sourcing and qualifying of subcontractors for services
    • Develop and implement best practices for the sourcing information storage across the different Groups and Software Platforms
    • The Request for Proposal (RFP) process associated with the Services and Equipment the Sourcing Group is responsible for
    • The best practices and procedures for documentation to be included in executed purchase orders, contracts and agreements
    • Review and identification of potential issues with the Supplier's Terms and Conditions
  • Build and implement a templated approach for sourcing activities to identify scope boundaries and responsibilities for the Manufacturing Group and the Project Teams to align on the required and expected deliverables
  • Be an integral part in definition of roles, responsibilities and expectations for manufacturing group, project teams and sourcing teams as they relate to strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Categorize and evaluate vendors utilizing financial, schedule, safety and quality data, on site interviews, site audits, post project reviews
    • Collaborate with the Pre-Con Group where applicable and maintain a listing of preferred vendors, suppliers and subcontractors based on defined criteria
  • Lead Sourcing initiatives to initiate and participate in the negotiation of Master Supply Agreements with primary and preferred Subcontractors and Vendors
  • Coordinate with the Risk Management, Legal, Project Management and Pre-Construction to maintain and communicate required changes to published Sourcing documents and procedures on SharePoint
  • Assist project teams with Terms and Conditions negotiations to get to executed contract with Vendor and Suppliers with consideration of the Agreement with Haskell and our Client
  • Provide periodic updates to leadership on sourcing strategy and progress updates
  • As part of the larger Sourcing group, visit important vendors, manufacturing and assembly facilities to verify adherence to Haskell's standards, address issues and identify / leverage opportunities
  • Supplement other roles in the Sourcing Group on an as needed basis

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business Administration (or similar technical degree) with minimum 5 years project experience.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience supporting design-build or EPC project delivery models is highly preferred.
  • Proven success managing long-lead electrical packages such as:
    • Switchgear
    • Transformers
    • Generators
    • Lighting packages
    • Low-voltage/data systems
    • Power distribution equipment
  • Strong understanding of electrical equipment specifications, drawings, and submittals.
  • Knowledge of NEC, UL requirements, and relevant electrical codes/standards.
  • Familiarity with large-scale construction sequencing and long-lead electrical equipment procurement.
  • Experience with value engineering and alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Datacenter experience a plus

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
