Student Services Specialist Senior (Specially Funded) Job ID: 322082 Location: Rio Salado Community College Full/Part Time: Regular/Temporary: Regular Hiring Salary Range $20.61 - $26.80/hourly, DOE Grade 111 Work Schedule The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year. 7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be based upon the needs of the department. Work Calendar 12 Months Funding Information This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 09/30/2026 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD. Job Summary The Student Services Specialist for the Semiconductor Pathways in Arizona's Technical Education (SP-ATE) grant will provide coordination and support to ensure student success and navigation through semiconductor educational pathways. This includes advising students, managing onboarding, tracking progress toward credentials and job placement, and coordinating with Career Technical Education (CTE) partners, universities, and industry. The role supports grant reporting, outreach, recruitment, and tracking systems, as well as the coordination of events. Essential Functions 20% - Advises students participating in semiconductor technician programs, including veterans, adult learners, and recent high school graduates. 20% - Supports recruitment and outreach activities, including events and presentations at schools and community organizations. Helps facilitate and coordinates logistics for events, site visits, and workshops. 15% - Collaborates with faculty, CTE partners, university representatives, and industry liaisons to align student services with project objectives. 15% - Coordinates onboarding processes and tracks student progress toward certificates and job placement. 10% - Serves as a liaison between students and college support services, including referrals for financial, academic, and career resources. 10% - Maintains accurate and timely records for student interactions and progress in compliance with grant reporting requirements. 10% - Contributes to the collection of data for grant evaluation and reporting purposes. Performs other duties as assigned in support of the SP-ATE project. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Experience or knowledge in semiconductor industry, technician programs, or advanced manufacturing education. B. Experience advising diverse student populations, like veterans, adult learners, recent high school graduates, in technical or STEM programs. C. Experience coordinating student onboarding, tracking student progress, and managing job placement activities using data management systems. D. Experience maintaining records and contributing to grant reporting requirements, including data collection and compliance documentation. E. Experience collaborating with faculty, K-12 partners, university representatives, and/or industry partners to achieve educational objectives. F. Experience planning and executing recruitment events, outreach presentations, workshops, and/or site visits for technical education programs. G. Experience or knowledge of CTE pathways, articulation agreements, dual enrollment programs, and/or workforce development initiatives. Special Working Conditions May be required to work at multiple sites or locations. May be required to work evenings and weekends. This is a short-term position with a projected end date of September 2028 with renewal contingent on funding source.
