THE MISSION

FLETC's network doesn't just carry data-it carries the connectivity that makes live training possible. When officers run scenarios in the field, when instructors broadcast to multiple sites, when security systems monitor thousands of acres, they depend on the infrastructure you'll own. Network downtime here isn't an inconvenience-it's a training mission stopped.

You won't be maintaining a static network. FLETC's training mission evolves constantly, and you'll architect solutions that keep pace-while the bullets (simulated) are still flying downrange.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    Lead enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and transport network operations across FLETC HQ and Training Delivery Points
  • Prioritize and resolve outages and performance degradation in a mission-critical, high-visibility environment
  • Design and modernize network architectures aligned with DHS OneNet and DHS Data Centers
  • Serve as technical lead for Infrastructure Change Control Board (ICCB) change packages, ensuring coordinated, low-risk rollouts
  • Coordinate with systems engineers, vendors, cloud teams, and DHS network authorities
  • Support cloud connectivity and migration strategies without service disruption
  • Mentor and lead network engineering staff, building bench strength for surge operations


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of detailed technical experience in network engineering within the last 7 years
  • Experience prioritizing network outages, projects, and tasks in complex environments
  • Technical leadership experience troubleshooting and repairing network infrastructure
  • Proven ability to design and implement operational network systems per Government requirements
  • Deep knowledge of network principles, protocols, and design optimization
  • Experience with cloud engineering and migration strategies
  • Ability to coordinate with DHS OneNet Engineering and Data Centers
  • Experience with ICCB packages and coordinated network rollouts

NICE TO HAVE

CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications

Experience with DHS or federal law enforcement networks

Background supporting geographically distributed sites
