The Regional Managing Director (RMD) drives PMI's growth across North America, delivering value for its members, partners, customers, and the project management profession. This role requires strong business acumen, proven stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead high-performing teams
The Regional Managing Director (RMD) will;
  • Prioritize high-impact initiatives to maximize sustainable revenue generating outcomes.
  • Grow partnerships by developing, fostering, and sustaining executive relationships with enterprises, collaborators, the PMI community and vendors. Provide account development direction, strategy and performance feedback to ensure performance meets objectives.
  • *Develop and strengthen relationships across PMI functions, regions, our community and our stakeholders.
  • *Marketing and brand-building. Partner with Marketing to aggressively develop awareness and equity of the PMI brand in the Region.
  • Serve as thought leader representing PMI at conferences and industry events and in meetings with executives. Understand and be able to effectively communicate PMI's global strategy; regional development plans; key initiatives; and overall business operations.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams that execute PMI strategy effectively.
  • Be a respected mentor and role model that embodies PMI values. Represent PMI as a values-driven leader internally and externally.
  • *Engage local PMI ecosystem including chapters and members while modeling PMI values globally while representing PMI as a values-driven leader internally and externally.
  • Community. Drive strategies for the development and alignment of Region communities with strategy.


What you will bring to the role:
  • Dynamic driven entrepreneurial leader with startup mentality, resourcefulness, and ability to inspire teams.
  • A track record of successfully running diverse teams, a minimum of 10 years of leadership and P&L experience in roles with a heavy focus on advocacy, account planning and management and relationship building.
  • Visionary thinker capable of reimagining business models to accelerate growth.
  • A startup mentality, hands-on leader with a high-capacity to lead and inspire in an entrepreneurial manner and mind-set - being resourceful, energetic, and self-motivated.
  • Business acumen and experience with complex negotiations and long cycle sales. Working experience within a globally diverse and distributed organizations.
  • Accomplished public speaker comfortable presenting to senior global audiences in various settings, and the ability to advocate for PMI by engaging communities through market intelligence, forecasting, and collaboration with regional and global executives.
  • High integrity with unquestionable ethical standards, a respected mentor and role model that embodies PMI values to our employees and beyond.
  • Strategic prioritization focusing teams on high-value initiatives with maximum ROI.
  • Ability to become thoroughly familiar with PMI including thorough knowledge of project management profession, PMI strategy, solutions, and capabilities to build credibility with stakeholders.
  • Work experience within the North America region, ideally working experience across the US and Canada.
  • Degree in a field such as Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Political Science or equivalent. Advanced degree is a plus.


Travel and Physical Requirements:
  • Global and local travel up to 40% including weekends/holidays; requires physical fitness for travel demands
