Job Description




As a Security Officer - Patient Care Patrol in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and foster a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license. You will provide exceptional customer service while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach in every interaction throughout the location.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a visible security-related presence.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and/or suspicious activity according to established protocols.
  • Assist with access control procedures, visitor management, and enforcement of facility policies as directed.
  • Support emergency response efforts, including assisting with evacuations, crowd control, and coordination with local authorities as needed.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while interacting with individuals in a healthcare setting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
